The head office of AXA Group (GIE AXA), based in La Défense, gathers the Group's corporate activities. It coordinates the various entities according to the Group's strategy and is responsible for managing international projects. The headquarters is composed with over 850 employees and is distinguished by its strong international culture (45 nationalities).

Management Presentation: 

The Life & Health GRM team is an international team of 40 people responsible for:
• implementation of Risk Management framework;
• oversee of L&H SII calculations;
• developments and monitoring of risk-controlled products;
• the risk-controlled underwriting and claims processes for Protection and Health;
• assessment of the quality of L&H technical operations through entity reviews, ensuring an adequate level of control and sufficient risk-return;
• anticipation of any new risk.

The Group business (“Employee Benefits”) is one key strategic pillar of AXA Strategy with strong growth expectation and innovative solutions to reach the objectives. The role of Group Risk Management is key to develop a sustainable business.

Main purpose : 

The job main purpose is to steer and manage risks related to Group business, lead an effective second opinion process (local and global) to drive business sustainability.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Drive strong risk management in Group Life & Health business of local entities Participate in In-Depth Reviews of AXA subsidiaries’. Key objectives are (i) assessment of the quality of new business and portfolios, (ii) identification of technical issues and comparison to Group standards, (iii) monitoring the implementation of associated action plans Support a sustainable development of offshore Group Life & Health business through dedicated risk management follow-up and reviews
  • Contribute to the underwriting process for Group Life & Health business Contribute to Group Underwriting Committee with an analysis of the referrals submitted to GRM for validation Define and update Authority Framework and Group-specific Risk Appetite Framework Ensure coordination with the Risk Management teams in the local entities and the regional offices for Group Life & Health
  • Drive Life & Health Risk Management culture Contribute to the development and maintenance of the risk standards and guidelines relating to Life & Health and their implementation in entities Animate Group Life & Health Risk Management community in coordination with Life and Health communities
  • Help AXA’s subsidiaries resolve local risk management issues on Group Life & Health Provide support to AXA’s subsidiaries on local issues where GRM assistance brings added value (long term or complex risks). Lead and actively contribute to expert working groups across entities, and ensure best practice sharing and knowledge management in relation to Group Life & Health
  • Key Relationships within the AXA Group: 
    • GRM departments
    • Finance departments
    • Local Heads of Life, Actuarial Function Holders, Chief Risk Officers and L&S technical specialists in local subsidiaries

    Technical and professional skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Life & Health markets & offers, portfolio management and pricing methodologies and tools
  • Understanding of life valuation and solvency principles
  • Communication skills: 

  • Ability to effectively convey complex issues into clear and easy-to-understand oral or written presentations in perfect English
  • Ability to relate technical metrics to commercial objectives, and communicate these objectives effectively to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Ability to work transversally in a large organisation and align multiple stakeholders at all levels
  • Highly self-motivated with a high level of autonomy and ability to effectively prioritise
  • Experience:

  • 3 to 10 Years + Experience as a health insurance actuary, preferably including experience in more than one country
  • Some exposure to actuarial solvency work is desirable
